…and of course there is “Allegory of Excelsior,” near Minneapolis, MN by Myklebust+Sears, a 43 foot tall sculpture featuring a bronze figure, gilded in 22 karat gold leaf, modeled by Gherity. 18 months in the studio and the outcome is Myklebust’s creative concept of a goddess soaring through the stars. “Excelsior!” Excelsior Ithaca New York! Reaching higher, to the sky; balancing between heaven and earth; looking over all we soar above! MIX is Art - proudly Goddess owned.

“I have been fortunate to be in the presence of truly historic and groundbreaking artists, writers and musicians for most of the last 30 years.   

As an artist myself, my personal projects inform one another.  I have started in one area of expertise in my life, and continually transform the processes that I have been exposed to, creatively navigating through, evolving into my next project.  It’s been quite illuminating and a lot of fun! I have been a professional dancer, choreographer, photographer, musician, sound engineer and have produced several events, including The Harriet Tubman Family Alliance Benefit Concert in St. Paul, MN. 

Working directly with hundreds of visual artists, sitting still in a room, listening, observing…  whilst being observed for 30 years of art schools, travels, and art based lectures in NYC, Italy and beyond inspired this ever evolving creative space. Now as an accomplished producer, I curate and bring you original art and access to it. This art is new to Ithaca, it is exciting, and we have options in our gallery and web store from $35 - $20,000… truly something for all, personal or corporate.

With MIX, what wisdom I have acquired is shared through color, texture, vibration and good conversation.  I see and feel a plethora of beauty and art in everyday life.  I also see a lot of suffering.  MIX Art Gallery brings journey and joy through art to a broader audience.  I would like all who enter the space to feel that they are a part of the art; an extension of the process, and final product. I guarantee you will be drawn to the piece for you.
