Leslie Ihde

Born in Boston, I have lived all of my adult life in upstate NY. I have close ties to Vermont where the flaming colors and crystal clear air help me find stillness within. My current inspiration comes from Turner watercolors and Zen art. Painting is a gratitude practice for me. Painting landscape is a way to explore the many mysteries of color and sky, and to bond with my home in Ithaca. My art is an inquiry pursued by hand, the paintings mere moments of pause in the continuum. I began painting in the midst of the pandemic, and while it has been a bumpy ride, I am gradually finding my joy, and my voice.
